As of December, Ridgeview Community Fellowship, Calgary, is no longer meeting as a church after the congregation voted to close its doors.

Ross Road Community Church, Abbotsford, B.C., commissioned Paul Hiebert as worship pastor Dec. 2. He graduated with a BA in worship and music from Columbia Bible College, and then served as worship pastor at several churches in Canada and the U.S. He also spent 2 years in the recording industry and worked as a financial advisor. Paul is married to Melanie.

Gracepoint Community Church, Surrey, B.C., welcomed Bill Hogg as lead pastor in December following the retirement of founding pastor Peter Nikkel, who served for 17 years. “For the last two decades,” said Nikkel, “I’ve seen this church dramatically transform from a small congregation of less than 30 people to a large, 1,500-member church that is a vibrant part of the community.” Hogg, an animated and approachable Scotsman, has been part of the Gracepoint staff since 2006. He previously served with Youth for Christ as national evangelist in Scotland and evangelist-at-large for the Seattle area. He also worked as a youth pastor and lead pastor in the U.S. and hosted an edgy live talk show. Hogg and his wife Morag have a daughter, Naomi, and son, Peter.

Coaldale (Alta.) MB Church installed two pastors on Sept. 30. Lead pastor Randy Dueck (front row) comes from the United Mennonite Church in Vineland, Ont. and is married to Cheri. Youth ministries pastor Bob Klassen (back right) comes from Vauxhall, Alta. He is married to Kristy and they have one son, Noah.

Steinbach Bible College appointed Rob Reimer as president June 2007. His previous experiences include working as executive director at Winkler Bible Camp and serving as pastor in Olathe, Kan. and at Highland MB Church, Calgary. Rob and his wife Myrna have 3 children, Kara (18), Shanna (16), and Joel (12).

Crestwood MB Church, Medicine Hat, Alta., welcomed John Willems as senior pastor Nov. 1. John previously served as pastor at Elm Creek (Man.) MB Church.

William (Billy) MacLean began ministry as part-time youth worker at Living Hope Church, Saskatoon on Sept. 1. Billy graduated from Briercrest College in spring 2007.

In July, Dave Hildebrandt became part-time worship leader at Living Hope Church, Saskatoon, after moving from Vancouver with his wife Shannon.
