Anabaptist studies centre formed in Montreal

Previous | Next

Quebec’s Mennonite Central Committee and École de Théologie Évangelique de Montréal (ETEM) established a new Centre for Anabaptist Studies, Sept. 6.

Headquartered in the MB seminary offices at the University of Montreal, the new centre will aim to publish Anabaptist resources in theology and Biblical studies, organize symposiums and conferences on Anabaptist and peace issues, and establish a presence on the web.

Neal Blough, director of the Mennonite Centre of Paris and an accomplished scholar, was the guest speaker at the launch. He presented on the importance of developing a francophone and urban Anabaptist theology in dialogue with other Christian traditions. Forty people from different corners of the evangelical and Mennonite communities of Montreal were present at ETEM’s one-year-old facilities.
