The first MB premier in Canada

Brad Wall, member of Bridgeway Community Church in Swift Current, Sask., was elected premier of Saskatchewan Nov. 7, the first MB to lead a province in Canadian history. Born and raised in Swift Current, Wall is an award winning entrepreneur and served as MLA from 1999 to 2003. As leader of the Saskatchewan Party in 2004, he proposed a free-market vision for the economy. The 42-year-old has been praised for his ties with First Nations chiefs and ability to connect with the public. Wall has attended Bridgeway for 12 years, where he taught Sunday school. He has three children, Megan, Colter, and Faith, with his wife Tami. Some of his influences include Abraham Lincoln and journalist Thomas Friedman.
