Kristen Nikkel was commissioned June 17 as part-time pastor of worship arts at Fort Garry MB Church, Winnipeg, where she had been involved in creating and leading worship experiences. Kristen is currently studying music at the University of Manitoba and is married to Matt.



In October, Saanich (B.C.) Community Church welcomed Kathleen Busch as associate pastor of discipleship ministries. Kathleen’s prior experiences include work as a youth pastor, Bible college professor, residence director at a Christian university, and world traveller. She has a BA in psychology from Trinity Western University, an MA in Christian Studies from Regent College, and is currently working on her DMin through George Fox University.

McIvor Avenue MB Church, Winnipeg, welcomed Jonathan Toews as youth pastor May 29. Jonathan, a graduate of Canadian Mennonite University, previously served at Portage Avenue Church, Winnipeg, and is married to Kimberly.



Josh and Kayla Kraubner of Yarrow (B.C.) MB Church began a two-year term with YWAM in Mazatlan, Mexico, June 15. They will be serving in the areas of hospitality, maintenance, building, and skate ministry.



Clearbrook MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C. held a dedication and installation service July 1 for Lawrence and Selma Warkentin as half-time interim pastor couple. They previously served as missionaries/church planters in Austria and Germany with MBMS International.

Clearbrook MB Church, Abbotsford, B.C. held an appreciation dinner May 27 for lead pastor Heinz Ratzlaff and his wife Edith, who retired after serving the church five-and-a-half years.

On July 31, Colleen Ruten left Bethany College, Hepburn, Sask. following 16 years of service in the business office and most recently as business manager. Her future plans remain uncertain.
