Robert Webber, well-known for his books on worship, died of cancer April 27 at 73. His last book, The Divine Embrace, was a winner in Christianity Today’s 2007 Book Awards.

“Going Barefoot,” a one-day conference on new challenges in communication will be held at Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg, Oct. 19, with keynote speakers Reginald Bibby and Gayle Goosen.

MB writer Rudy Wiebe was presented with the Leslie K. Tarr Award for outstanding career achievement at The Word Guild Writing Awards Gala June 13 in Waterloo, Ont.

Mennonite Central Committee’s magazine A Common Place received top awards from both the Associated Church Press and Religion Communicators Council at their conventions in April.

Die Mennonitische Post, a German language newspaper published by MCC Canada and distributed mainly to more conservative Mennonite groups in North and South America, recently marked 30 years of existence.
