Gratitude at Grantham

Previous | Next

October is the month Canadians stop to give God thanks for all his provisions. Last October, at Grantham MB Church, St. Catharines, Ont., we expressed our thanks in several ways.

It was missions month. One Sunday Pastor Soonthorn from Thailand, who is doing prison ministry, challenged the congregation to do their part to make salvation known among the people they meet. Grantham member Janice Voth works with him, and they are seeing many come to know the Lord.

Another Sunday we responded to Mennonite Central Committee’s urgent need of school kits. Some women made the bags and then people of all ages assembled 226 kits during the Sunday school hour.

The youth of the church also collected 400 pounds of groceries in connection with Halloween festivities. A few days later the church was contacted about migrant workers from Thailand in the Leamington area who were in desperate need of winter jackets and warm blankets. Again the response was immediate.

Can we as individuals further the cause of Christ? Yes, we are God’s hands and feet, to do good to those in need.
