Amanda Falk won female vocalist of the year and Fresh I.E.’s song “World Vision” won rap/hip hop song of the year at the Gospel Music Association Canada’s 2006 Covenant Awards in Calgary, Oct. 24–27. Both are produced by Avante Records, a division of Family Life Network.

Larry Nickel’s “Requiem for Peace” CD was released for this year’s Remembrance Day and is available for purchase from MCC Supportive Care Services, 1-800-622-5455.

Mysteries of Grace and Judgement, a popular audiovisual recording of storytelling by Jack Dueck, as well as poetry and music, is again available in DVD and VHS formats. Call MCC Ontario, 1-800-313-6226.

This year’s Fraser Valley Arts and Peace Festival, Nov. 4–12, sponsored by MCC B.C., brought together theologians, politicians, students, musicians, artists, film makers and others to explore how the Anabaptist peace position speaks to our world today. Presenters included MP Ed Fast, Columbia Bible College professor Gay Lynn Voth, and Greg Rollins of Christian Peacemaker Teams.

A one-week School of Writing at Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg, May 14–18, will feature Rudy Wiebe on writing fiction and Sarah Klassen on writing poetry.
