Two long-serving members of the Canadian Conference of MB churches have announced plans to retire.
Marilyn Hudson, manager of the conference’s publisher, Kindred Productions, intends to retire in spring 2007. She has served Kindred in various roles since 1987 and as manager since 1990. “I’m feeling God telling me it’s time to close this door and move on,” Hudson said. “After 19 years I’ve given what I can to the ministry and it’s time to let someone with a different set of skills take on the role.” She plans to pursue certification in teaching English as a second language. “We will definitely miss her,” said Cam Rowland, conference director of communications. “Marilyn’s an incredibly dedicated and committed person, to the conference and in her relationship with Jesus Christ.”
Henry Neufeld, Stewardship Ministries representative for Ontario, who joined the team in March 2001, will conclude his work Dec. 31. Conference CFO John Wiebe says Neufeld will be greatly missed. “His wisdom, calmness, and insight into issues are always evident, but for me his greatest gift was encouragement,” Wiebe wrote in an e-mail announcing Neufeld’s retirement. “He seems always to know, not only what to say, but when to say it.” Neufeld says he is looking forward to more time to devote to golf, travel, and his grandchildren. —Canadian Conference of MB Churches release
