John Longhurst received a “Distinguished contribution to religious communications in Canada” award from the Association of Roman Catholic Communicators of Canada, May 6, which recognizes contributions to communication on a national level in a pluralistic, secular society. Longhurst has worked in church-related communications since 1981, currently with Canadian Mennonite University. He is author of Making the News: An Essential Guide for Effective Media Relations (Novalis).

Women Alive, a new magazine for Canadian Christian women, launched in May. It will be published 3 times yearly; Karen Stiller is editor.

XXXchurch.com, an internet ministry to the pornography industry, and NavPress have inked a tentative agreement to distribute 10,000 copies of a Bible with a cover that says “Jesus Loves Porn Stars.”
