Gathering 2006 prayer corner

Mennonite Brethren churches across Canada are asked to unite in prayer for Gathering 2006. The goal is to “shift the focus from us to God” and to “pray very simply” for the ministry-shaping decisions of the Canadian Conference of MB Churches. Please join us as we pray for Gathering 2006:

• Pray that 500–600+ delegates and guests register.
• Pray for our speakers – Bob Roberts, Danielle Strickland, Tim Geddert, and Mark Burch – as they prepare to bring God’s Word to us. Ask God to give all who gather “ears to hear” what God’s Spirit is saying to the Canadian MB church.
• The vision for Gathering 2006 is to create a space for God to speak to us and for community to happen. Ask God to guide those who are planning and all who are part of the programming.
• Please pray that the BFL resolution on women in ministry leadership discussion will reflect charity, humility, and mutual respect.
• Pray for all the details that must be finalized and for the University of Calgary as we stay on campus.
• Pray for the safety of children, youth, and urban plunge attendees.
• Pray that delegates and guests “catch the vision” of our conference.

Note: Hans Boge was mistakenly listed as a member of the Board of Faith and Life (BFL) in the Gathering Report booklet (April 28). Brother Boge resigned from the BFL as Manitoba representative because he could not support the resolution on women in ministry leadership.
