Call for nominations

Previous | Next

The Canadian MB Conference is calling for nominations for a youth delegate to represent Canadian MB youth and young adults on the planning committee of the 2009 Global Youth Summit (GYS) of the Mennonite World Conference.

After screening nominations, the conference will appoint one delegate for a three-year term that will include attendance at the Mennonite World Conference in Paraguay in 2009.

A key concern of GYS is the incorporation of youth into the life and leadership of the church. Central to GYS is networking young leaders in the global Anabaptist movement.

The nominee will represent the interests of Canadian MB youth, and also be encouraged to initiate or participate in workshops and intergenerational dialogue at church and conference levels.

Please nominate a person who:

  • demonstrates a personal relationship with Christ
  • is a leader among their peers
  • is age 18–27
  • is a baptized member of the MB church
  • is able to participate in a three-year process of listening and information exchange
  • has access to the internet and is able to regularly communicate by e-mail.

For more information or a nomination form, please contact John Neufeld, Coach for Emerging Leaders, at 1-888-669-6575. Nominations close July 15.
