Friday will feature two workshop opportunities. Most workshops will provide practical learning that can immediately be applied in the local church. Some are focused on networking people with similar interests and some are issue-oriented workshops that address aspects of the conference agenda.
Session #1: 10:30 a.m.–noon

- Church multiplication – Panel discussion
- Hermeneutics in Action: Interpreting the Word – Doug Heidebrecht, Bruce Enns, Jeff Peters
- Connecting Word and Deed – MBMSI
- Focusing Leaders/Churches – Dave Jackson
- Networking groups: for children’s ministry, youth ministry, worship arts, spiritual formation/discipleship, leading women
Session # 2: 3:30–5 p.m.
- Using Inductive Study in Preaching and Teaching – Tim Geddert
- Discipleship in a Skeptical Generation – Sharon Peters
- Urban Church Planting – Danielle Strickland
- Creating a Culture to Empower Emerging Leaders – Ron Toews and Dan Unrau
- Our Journey regarding Women in Ministry Leadership – Q & A with Board of Faith and Life
- Learning Labs: Risk Management for Congregations (Marilyn Hiebert); Utilizing the Description of a Growing Disciple (Cam Stuart); Writers’ workshop (MB Herald staff); Canadian Conference of MB Churches constitutional changes and MBBS and MBMSI by-law changes (working session with Paul Loewen)
Note: The new constitution of the Canadian MB Conference was distributed to all churches Mar. 1, 2006 to meet the 90-day requirement. See your church office or mbconf.ca for a copy.
According to our constitution, all churches may send 1 delegate per 25 members, plus 1 pastoral delegate.
