Transitions

New Life Church, Ottawa, is in transition after the departure of pastor Taka Mukono last fall. “We are seeking to hear the voice of God for future direction,” write Nick and Janet Parker, leaders of the congregation’s elder team. The church has a “tremendous young worship band” and is starting to search for a pastor.

Greg and Monica Schmidt concluded their pastoral ministry at Armstrong (B.C.) Bible Chapel Mar. 12, after serving there since late summer 1998. They are open to further ministry.

Wayne Dick has been working as interim director of Redberry Bible Camp, near Hepburn, Sask., since November 1. He is a longtime farmer in the Watrous area, and is married to Janice, a writer.

The program formerly known as Evangelical Anabaptist Seminary Program has a new name: Winnipeg Centre for Ministry StudiesOutside link (WCMS). It was created in 2002 when a number of Mennonite organizations joined to facilitate pastoral ministry training in Winnipeg. While primarily accredited through Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary (Elkhart, Ind.) and Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary (Fresno, Cal.), Canadian Mennonite University and Steinbach Bible College have also played an important role in the program. WCMS is also sponsored by the Manitoba Conference of MB Churches, Mennonite Church Manitoba, Evangelical Mennonite Conference, Evangelical Mennonite Mission Conference, and Chortitzer Mennonite Conference. Pierre Gilbert is program coordinator.

Komoka (Ont.) Community Church has closed.
