Leading Women Conference

Previous | Next

Fifty-six Mennonite Brethren leaders from across Canada attended the Leading Women Conference in Calgary Mar. 2–4, comprising nearly one fifth of all participants at this Canadian Conference sponsored event. Eileen Boettger, moderator of Lendrum (Alta.) MB Church, comments that she “will never be the same after the encounter with Jesus and his call on today’s women to make a difference in our country and world.”

Lorraine Dick (l), pastor at South Langley (B.C.) MB Church, with Margaret Gibb (r), president of Women Alive, presented the Leading Women 2006 Award for Education, Training and Development. The award, sponsored in part by Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary, went to Lynn Smith (centre), women’s advocate, author of Gender or Giftedness, and co-founder of NextLEVEL Leadership. The award ceremony celebrated the extraordinary contribution of Canadian women to the success of the work and ministry in their area.
