Gathering 2006 speakers

Captain Danielle Strickland, a gifted leader, has started a few congregations, including the current cell-based Christian community called 614 Vancouver in Vancouver’s barren downtown east side. She recently completed Chaotic Order (Credo Press), a book that turns conventional understandings of leadership practice upside down. Danielle will speak at our evening service Friday, July 7, after which delegates will be invited to an urban plunge into the heart of Calgary.

Mark Burch, pastor of Willow Park Church, Kelowna, B.C., has established a reputation in our conference as an excellent leader and communicator. God has blessed Willow Park with tremendous growth the past nine years; using the satellite model of ministry, they now meet in six services on two campuses and are preparing to launch their third site. Many people are coming to Christ and learning to follow him.

Speaking at the B.C. Mennonite Brethren convention in 2004, Mark eloquently appealed for a higher commitment to the study and communication of the Bible as core to discipleship in the church. He will give the closing banquet address Saturday, July 8, challenging us to live by the kingdom values found in the Bible.
