Cover: “Mercy” by Eleonore Esau

Eleonore Esau is a Winnipeg artist whose work is exhibited and sold in galleries in Canada (Birchwood Gallery, Winnipeg; Collector’s Choice Gallery, Saskatoon), Mexico, and Cayman Islands. She is a member of Portage Ave. Church (MB).

About “Mercy” she writes, “Quite unexpectedly one day, I had a vision of a woman in a black robe and head covering, half-kneeling, eyes downcast. I felt I needed to paint her and as I did, the rest of the picture seemed to evolve. It is a picture of mercy being shown . . . and obtained. ‘Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy’ (Matthew 5:7).”
