Don Klaassen completed 5 years as area director with MBMS International last May and is now serving as regional director for ACMC (Advancing Churches in Missions Commitment) Canada. He assists churches in discerning their vision for mission and provides resources to help them carry out that vision. Don and Judy live in Yarrow, B.C. and attend Sardis Community Church in Chilliwack.

Linden (Alta.) MB Church added 2 new pastors, effective Jan. 1. Daniel Beutler, who comes to Linden from Chilliwack, B.C., is congregational life pastor. He has been involved in ministry to persecuted Christians the past 7 years. He and Maureen have 2 children, Debbie and Sam. Clinton Toews is part-time youth pastor. He grew up in Linden, attended Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford, and last year, graduated with a diploma in agricultural business.

On Feb. 5, Manitou (Man.) MB Church commissioned Stephen Kroeker as senior pastor. He comes from Vancouver where he was a member of Willingdon Church in Burnaby. Stephen and Melissa, who is finishing a degree by correspondence, both trained at Briercrest Bible College, Caronport, Sask.

Abe Bergen, currently president of Steinbach Bible College (SBC), will become director of development at Canadian Mennonite University, Winnipeg, beginning in July. He has an MDiv from Providence Seminary, Otterburne, Man. and a BRE from Briercrest Bible College, and has been pastor at Kleefeld (Man.) Evangelical Mennonite Church 11 years. He also served as president of the Association of Canadian Bible Colleges and on the Council for Christian Higher Education Canada.

Brian and Becky Wiebe, former church planters at Promontory Community Church, Chilliwack, B.C., have gone to the Philippines for at least 3 months, to serve as pastor-in-residence at Wycliffe/Summer Institute of Linguistics and work with the Association of Ifugao Bible Churches.

Pastor Lance (Melanie) Schubert and youth pastor Trevor (Kyla) Fedderson resigned their positions at Garden Valley Community Church, Kelowna, B.C., effective Jan. 1. Terry Lam is interim pastor.



Gospel Fellowship Church, Foam Lake, Sask. commissioned Adam and Erin Lewis as pastor couple Jan. 22. They moved from Moose Jaw where Adam was studying and working in the pork industry and Erin was office administrator at a church. Adam is completing a BA in pastoral ministries from Briercrest College. The couple has two children, Nathaniel and Abigail.

Pacific Rim Community Worship Place, Surrey, B.C. is no longer meeting as a congregation.
