Stewardship ministries director retires

Previous | Next

In February 1992, a young lawyer sold his law practice in Saskatoon and committed himself to furthering the work of the Stewardship Ministries department of the Canadian Conference of MB Churches.

Alf Huebert saw the need for experienced legal input in the estate planning area and developed policies and practices to that end. He also extended the various services and teaching components of Stewardship Ministries to a much larger cross-section of our constituency, especially through the creation of regional offices.

Alf retired as director of stewardship ministries, effective Jan. 31. He and Marlene have a son living in Australia and a daughter in Calgary. They look forward to spending time “down under,” where Alf can better appreciate his love of boats and sailing, as well as with their grandchildren in Canada.

Over the past 14 years, Alf has added a new level of professional expertise and vision to the ministry of stewardship in our conference. His personal commitment to living out Christian stewardship principles and to spreading these truths have impacted many lives.

We pray God’s rich blessing and joy on Alf and Marlene as they launch out yet again, into uncharted waters.

John Wiebe, chief financial officer, Canadian MB Conference
