The Rhythm of God’s Grace: Uncovering Morning and Evening Hours of Prayer. Arthur Paul Boers. Paraclete Press, 2003.

Mennonite pastor Arthur Paul Boers, now assistant professor of pastoral theology at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Indiana, makes a strong case for a common discipline of daily morning and evening (or “fixed-hour”) prayer, using liturgical prayer books. He describes its biblical and historical roots, its theology and purpose, and its benefits. It immerses us in Scripture, he says, and is ideal for busy people. The appendix contains suggestions for getting started.

Beyond Jabez: Expanding Your Borders. Bruce Wilkinson. Multnomah Press, 2005.

This book includes testimonies of answered prayer as well as clearing up misconceptions surrounding Wilkinson’s previous book on the prayer of Jabez.
