New washroom facility opens at Pines Bible Camp

Grand Forks, B.C.

Previous | Next

A good crowd from all over the Boundary, West Kootenay, and Fraser Valley showed up despite the rain on Saturday, June 11 for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the new washroom facility at Pines Bible Camp. Dr. Jake and Marg Bekker, one of the original founders of the camp in 1963, cut the ribbon and declared the washroom officially open. An open house with cake and coffee followed the ribbon cutting and guests were able to tour and see the many other improvements and upgrades happening all over the facility.

With the help of many donors and volunteers from the West Kootenay and Fraser Valley, Pines was able to build the beautiful new facility. The washroom is a huge improvement over the 30-year-old, undersized old one, with more sinks, toilets and showers than the previous one. The tiled floors and walls finish off the interior, making it not only beautiful but also very user friendly and sanitary. As one guest said, “It is the nicest public use washroom in the area.” This new addition will tremendously help the growing programs Pines is offering. Many school groups, coming from Creston, Nelson, Castlegar, Trail, and the Boundary, have already appreciated this improvement to the facility. The old washroom is being renovated and will be used for other purposes. For more information, check out our websiteOutside link.
