Georgia Siebert

Georgia Siebert died Dec. 28 after only 12 hours of life. She had been diagnosed with trisomy 18 and a severe heart condition. She was a beautiful little girl. She is mourned by her parents Walt and Sarah, siblings Rebecca and Cole; grandparents Donnie and Roger Patillo, Frank and Lesley Cole, and William and Maria Siebert. A private graveside service was held Dec. 30 with Chris Arney ministering.

Peter Hildebrand

Peter Hildebrand died Mar. 27. He was born Dec. 11, 1914 to Henry and Elizabeth Hildebrand in Siberia, Russia. In 1926 the family immigrated to Brookdale, Man. He married Martha Wiens in 1943. In 1948 they moved to Port Rowan, Ont. Martha died in Aug. 1949. He married Susan Neumann in 1950. He ran a mixed farm together with his brother Jake. He was an usher in Port Rowan MB Church and enjoyed making people feel welcome. He exemplified integrity, generosity and a strong work ethic to his children. His consistent faith sustained him in difficult times. They retired from farming in 1978, moving to Messiah’s Corner, and in 1997 to Tabor Manor in St. Catharines. Predeceased by Martha and 1 sister, he is mourned by Susan; sons Peter, Paul, John; daughters Ruth Teigrob and Doreen Toews; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 2 brothers. The funeral was Apr. 1 in Port Rowan MB Church with Sandy Young and Waldo Pauls ministering.

Henry (Heinrich J.) Neufeld

Henry (Heinrich J.) Neufeld

Henry Neufeld died Oct. 24. He was born June 14, 1928 in Drake, Sask. to John and Katrina Neufeld. The family moved to B.C. in 1943. He became a Christian at 13 and was baptized June 23, 1946 in Yarrow. B.C. He married Helen Thiessen May 9, 1948. Henry worked for Eddie’s Nursery, then for Scott-Bathgate from 1955 to 1988. They travelled and tended his garden during retirement. They were active members of Killarney Park MB Church, Vancouver. Predeceased by son Eldon in 1978, he is mourned by Helen; daughter Frances Lesway; 3 grandchildren; 3 sisters. The funeral was in Killarney Park MB Church with Ken Peters ministering.

Susie Wiens

Susie Wiens

Susie Wiens died Feb. 22. She was born Feb. 26, 1912 in Wiesenfeld, Russia to Abram and Maria Reimer. She accepted Jesus at an early age and was later baptized. When she was 12 the family immigrated to Canada. She sang and played guitar along with her siblings and other young people. She married John Wiens June 15, 1930 in Humboldt, Sask. They moved to Sardis, B.C. and attended Greendale MB Church. They sang in the choir, and visited the sick and elderly. Susie sewed for her family and for others. Family was important to her, and she taught her children to sing and to pray. Predeceased by John in May 1991, she is mourned by sons Wil, John and Abe; daughters Leona Baerg, Serena Rempel, Gertie Ratzlaff, Sue Wiens and Debbie Reimer; 25 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral was Feb. 26 with Reg Toews ministering.

Jacques “Jack” Allard

Jacques “Jack” Allard

Jacques “Jack” Allard died Mar. 8. He was born Nov. 11, 1956 to Laurent and Laurette Allard. He grew up in St. Francois Xavier, Man. He worked for Manitoba Telephone System. He married Catherine Tomlinson in 1979. They moved to Newton, Man. in 1988. They home-schooled their children, teaching them to love the Lord. He had strength of character and was devoted to God and family. He had a sense of humour and a love of life. He is mourned by Catherine; children Tom, Jacie, Jesse, Crystal, Jonathan, Justin and Caleb; his mother; 2 brothers; 5 sisters. The funeral was Mar. 14 in Community Fellowship Church, Newton with Ramsy Unruh ministering.

Agnes Niessen

Agnes Niessen

Agnes Niessen died Mar. 29. She was born Jan. 1, 1917 in Aberdeen, Sask. to John and Margaret Letkeman. She accepted the Lord during revival meetings. She married Bill Niessen in 1940. They lived on the Niessen family farm until 1949 when they moved to Chilliwack, and then in 1956 to Abbotsford. They joined Central Heights Church, where she worked in Sunday school, the nursery, Pioneer Girls, Good News Club and on the food committee. They became foster parents to 33 children and provided nursing care for several elderly people. She worked as a nurse’s aide at a health centre and participated in the grandparenting program in an elementary school. After Bill died in 1999, she moved into Menno Home. Predeceased by Bill, 1 sister, 2 brothers; she is mourned by son Ron; daughter Marj Jantzen; 5 sisters; 2 brothers. The funeral was Apr. 7 in Central Heights Church with Chris Douglas ministering.

Helen Rogalsky

Helen Rogalsky

Helen Rogalsky died Mar. 13. She was born Dec. 19, 1913 in Tiege, Russia to Peter and Sara Goossen. She came to Canada in 1926. She accepted Christ at 16 and was baptized, joining Coaldale (Alta.) MB Church. She married Jacob Rogalsky Nov. 14, 1934. They farmed for 49 years, then retired to Coaldale. Helen moved to Sunny South Lodge and then to Coaldale Health Care Centre. Predeceased by Jacob, 3 brothers, 4 sisters, she is mourned by daughters Marlene Loewen, Linda Graber, Lenora, Elsie; sons Warren, Ed, Vic, Ken; 21 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 1 brother; 2 sisters. The funeral was Mar. 18 in Coaldale MB Church with Lorne Willms ministering.

Henry Jantz

Henry Jantz

Henry Jantz died Jan. 28. He was born May 1, 1935 in Laird, Sask. to Henry and Helena Jantz. His faith was important to him and he dedicated his life to Jesus at age 10 while attending a children’s camp at Sand Beach Lake. The family moved to a farm in Niagara-on-the Lake, Ont. in 1947. Siblings remember his love for jokes and one-liners. He was baptized in 1953, joining Virgil (Ont.) MB Church. He trained as an electrical technician, working for Ontario Hydro, then at capital building projects, Foster Wheeler and General Motors. In 1977 he rededicated his life to Christ with renewed dedication to Scripture, keeping his promise to start every day with Scripture and prayer. In 1982 he had a near death experience. This affected him profoundly and he was thankful for his recovery. He will be remembered for his projects, hobbies and exceptional gardening, in which he experimented with grafting or growing non-native plants. He was a loving and caring husband and father. Predeceased by 1 brother, he is mourned by his wife Margret (Loewen), sons Edward and Matthew; 2 sisters; 3 brothers. The funeral was Feb. 2 at Scott Street MB Church, St. Catharines, with Hugo Jantz and Pat Bartley ministering.
