Mennonite World Conference has selected God’s Shalom Project by Bernhard Ott, director of Bienenberg Theological Seminary, Switzerland as the 2004 addition to MWC’s Global Anabaptism/Mennonite Shelf of Literature. The book plays two functions, says MWC executive secretary Larry Miller: “it reminds those of us who are believers about the full sweep of God’s constant effort to make us part of God’s Shalom Project, [a]nd to readers with little knowledge of the Bible, the book offers a fresh view of Jesus and His astonishing life.” First published in German, it was translated into French, and then into English by Tim Geddert. The Global Anabaptist/Mennonite Shelf of Literature was launched in 2002; the first selection was Sharing Gifts in the Global Family of Faith by Pakisa K. Tshmika and Timothy Lind.
