Service tour will respond to hurricane devastation

Previous | Next

In September, Hurricane Ivan caused extensive devastation of property and income for the people of Jamaica who are already suffering from a lack of income and adequate housing.

Dave Worth, Mennonite Central Committee’s director of constituency ministries will be leading TourMagination’s Service Tour to Jamaica January 21 to 30, 2005. Worth has previously worked in Jamaica, for Habitat for Humanity Canada and also with Mennonite Central Committee, as well as leading tours there for TourMagination. The group will be working with the Mennonite Church of Jamaica, MCC and Habitat for Humanity to assist with hurricane recovery.

Three persons who are already committed to travel to Jamaica in January also participated in TourMagination’s service tour in 2004. They stated that they want to return and help the Jamaicans rebuild their lives. The need is tremendous there, not only for financial donations but for volunteers to join the Jamaican people in hurricane recovery.

To register, call 800-565-0451 or 519-885-2522, or e-mail.
