Anna Hahn
Anna Hahn died Aug. 23. She was born Feb. 13, 1918 to Jacob and Maria Friesen in Blumenort, Sask. She married Peter Krahn July 31, 1938. Peter died in 1957. She moved to Swift Current, Sask. in 1963 and worked as a housekeeper and babysitter. She married Andrew Hahn in 1974. They lived in Swift Current and on the farm in Neidpath where they enjoyed a large garden, picking saskatoons and spending time with friends. She cherished visits from family and friends. In 1996 she was confined to a wheelchair because of hip problems and in 2000 she entered Swift Current Care Centre. Predeceased by husbands Peter and Andrew, 2 children in infancy, 2 sisters, 4 brothers, she is mourned by daughters Sylvia Ens and Carole Baragar; sons Richard and Robert; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; Andrew’s family. The funeral was Aug. 27 in Bridgeway Community Church, Swift Current.
Peter J. Rempel
Peter J. Rempel died July 30. He was born Feb. 3, 1930 to Johann and Agnetha Rempel near Birtle, Man. The family moved to Arnold, B.C. in 1941. He committed his life to Christ at 16. He married Frieda Ewert in July 1952. He worked at a nickel plate mine in Hedley, B.C., then as an accountant for Surrey Co-op in Cloverdale, B.C. and Ritchie Smith Feeds in Abbotsford, B.C. Frieda died in March 2003. He married Ruby Massier in Jan. 2004. He retired early and did volunteer work with MCC, Abbotsford Gleaners and Haggai Institute in Maui. He was an active member of Bakerview MB Church, Abbotsford. Predeceased by Frieda and 1 brother, he is mourned by Ruby, daughter Sandra Graham; son Darrell; 4 grandchildren; 5 brothers; 5 sisters; Ruby’s 4 children and their children. The funeral was Aug. 5 in Bakerview MB Church.
Agnete Rempel
Agnete Rempel died Dec. 6. She was born Aug. 21, 1915 in Schoenau, Ukraine, to Isaak and Aganetha Quiring. She married Arnold Rempel Dec. 3, 1933. In Oct. 1943 they fled to Kreis Birnbaum, Warthegau, then to Kreis Rochlitz, Sachsen, where they lived until Nov. 1945, and finally to Berlin. Here she accepted the Lord as her Saviour and was baptized Apr. 26, 1946. In Jan. 1947 they immigrated to Volendam, Paragauy. She was responsible for the family and the farm while Arnold worked away from home. She was often ill. The family immigrated to Vancouver in Aug. 1965. Here she did day work and after retirement spent time with her children and grandchildren. Arnold died Oct. 19, 1994. Her health slowly deteriorated. Predeceased by Arnold, she is mourned by daughters Frieda Reimer, Abbotsford, Lina Mensch, Germany, Anneloore, Vancouver; sons Helmut, Paraguay, Peter, Richmond, B.C. The funeral was Dec. 11 in Culloden MB Church, Vancouver.
John P. Reimer
John P. Reimer died Aug. 16. He was born Aug. 14, 1919 to Peter and Maria Reimer in Blumenort, Siberia. The family immigrated to Boissevain, Man in 1926. In 1937 the family moved to B.C. John accepted the Lord as Saviour in 1934 and was baptized in 1938, joining South Abbotsford MB Church. He worked as a conscientious objector in WW II until 1943. He married Katie Froese in 1944. They farmed in Abbotsford. He loved working with the tractor and making hay. He also loved being with people, remembering their names. In 1973 Katie died. In 1974 he married Minnie Kornelsen. He loved the Lord and his family, praying that all would accept the Lord. Predeceased by Katie, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, he is mourned by Minnie; children Esther Suderman, Irene Loewen, Naomi Crapo, Ed, Dan and Ruth Felske; 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 2 sisters. The funeral was Aug. 20 at South Abbotsford MB Church.
Tina Wall
Tina Wall died Aug. 22. She was born Oct. 26, 1908 in Tokmak, Ukraine to Abraham and Helena Wall. She enjoyed Sunday school, particularly the singing. The family moved to Schoensee because of the war and revolution. In 1921 MCC brought aid for their survival. She accepted Jesus as her Saviour at 14 and was baptized 1 year later. In 1925 the family immigrated to Canada, but she was detained in England because of an eye disease. She was able to arrive in Canada a year-and-a-half later. She worked on a farm and then in a woollen mill in Preston, Ont. Later she sewed draperies in her home. She joined Kitchener (Ont.) MB Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends. She read, particularly her Bible. In 1986 she moved to Kitchener, and in 1995 to St. Catharines Tabor Manor Apartments. She lovingly cared for her sister Anna. She is mourned by Anna, nieces and nephews. The funeral was in Scott St. MB Church, St. Catharines.
Trinity Janzen Jadunath
Trinity Janzen Jadunath died Feb. 9. She was born Dec. 1, 2000 to Justin and Elaine Janzen Jadunath. She loved nature, was bilingual and enjoyed learning new words. She memorized 37 Bible verses, songs and choruses. She was diagnosed with leukemia at 2 and learned self-control, deference, compassion and sharing. Her favourite Bible story was the healing of blind Bartimaeus. She is mourned by her parents; grandparents Rodger Jadunath and Michele Elliot, Ed and Tania Warkentin Janzen; great-grandparents Peter and Lidia Janzen. The funeral was Feb. 9 in Oceanview Chapel, Burnaby, B.C.
Henry (Hank) Adrian
Hank Adrian was born Jan. 13, 1925 to Peter and Sara Adrian of Waldheim, Sask. His father died when Henry was 9. His mother married Peter Siemens. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended the MB church in the area. He moved to Vancouver in 1946 where he worked in the forest industry. He married Elsie in 1948. They moved to Prince George in 1951. He loved flowers and spent his retirement tending them. He is mourned by Elsie; sons Ken, David and Donald; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great-grandchildren; 1 sister; 1 stepsister; 1 stepbrother. The funeral was July 9 in Westwood MB Church, Prince George.
Justina Nikkel
Justina Nikkel died Aug. 20. She was born in Fuerstenwerder, Russia Jan. 4, 1913 to Henry and Maria Goerzen. The family came to Canada in 1926, settling in Coaldale in 1928. She committed her life to Christ at 19, was baptized and joined Coaldale (Alta.) MB Church. She married John P. Nikkel in 1934. They farmed near Coaldale. She was a strong support to her husband’s activities in church and worked out her faith in practical ways. John died in 1993. She moved to Sunny South Lodge. Her concern was the spiritual welfare of her family. Predeceased by John, she is mourned by son John; daughters Anne Rempel, Betty Baerg, Helen Harms; 1 sister. The funeral was Aug. 24 in Coaldale MB Church.
