NYC’04 prayer update

NYC'04

If you’ve ever heaved a very big rock into a calm pond, you’ll know exactly how to pray for NYC’04. First we pick up the rock, trying to get our hands around the edges. NYC turns out to be bigger than we thought! Then comes the lift-and-heave part. Lots of grunting. That’s where we are right now, so everyone in the prep phase needs your prayers – bands, speakers, the planning team, the gathering gaggle of volunteers. But all the grunting will result in that euphoric release – the moment when we’ve done everything we can do and everything kind of goes into silent slow motion as we watch what we’ve pitched arc through the air. The conference itself will be the dramatic splash, so pray for that impact! But what we’re really looking for isn’t the splash, but the ripples afterward. So begin praying about that too – that the NYC splash would create kingdom ripples that would be felt in every corner of our little pond. This is eternity we’re messing with, after all! Thanks so much!

Brad Huebert, prayer co-ordinator for NYC’04
