Editor appointed for Le Lien

Previous | Next

Discipleship Ministries of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean Baptiste Biere as editor of Le Lien, effective October 1. He will fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Annie Brosseau in December 2002. Le Lien serves the MB Conference’s francophone churches in Quebec, publishing 11 issues per year.

Most recently Biere comes from the European Bible Institute in Lamorlaye, France where he has been teaching Old Testament, Church Planting, Church Growth and Apologetics. He also has extensive experience in conference speaking, church planting and pastoral ministries.

Biere holds Bachelor and Masters Degrees in Science as well as a PhD in Physics from the University of Paris-Sud, France. He also holds an MDiv in Cross Cultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary and is currently a candidate for a PhD in Theology.

Jean Biere was born and raised in the Congo, in a Christian home. His parents were involved in ministry.

Biere has a passion for ministry in the francophone community and is looking forward to coming to Canada. He has been seeking God’s direction for his life and Discipleship Ministries is pleased he has accepted this position. “Through the grace of God that led me to renounce being a professor in physics,” Biere writes, “I have learned that what matters is to serve the Lord where He calls us.”
