Anna Wiens Dorn

Anna Wiens Dorn died July 16. She was born Jan. 20, 1905 in Landskrone, South Russia to Gerhard and Margaretha Baergen. Her mother died when Anna was 7. She committed her life to the Lord at 12 and was later baptized. The family immigrated to Chinook/Sedalia, Alta. in 1926. She married David Wiens Apr. 15, 1928. They lived in East Coulee, Munson and Gem, Alta. She loved caring for her family and often sang while she worked. They retired to Three Hills, Alta. in 1969. David died in 1971. She married Jacob Dorn in 1977 and moved to Coaldale, Alta. He died in 1996. She moved to Sunny South Lodge and then to Didsbury (Alta.) Long-term Care. She was cheerful and positive, graciously accepting change. She loved music, poetry and art and nature. She encouraged others and enjoyed grandchildren’s visits and sharing in their lives. She knit for her family. She read her Bible through many times and was faithful in prayer. Predeceased by husbands David and Jacob, son John in 2004, 3 grandchildren, 2 sisters, 6 brothers, 7 siblings in infancy, she is mourned by daughters Anne Doerksen, Gem; Mary Harder, Tumbler Ridge, B.C.; Margaret Siemens, Olds, Alta.; Thelma Dirks, Hepburn, Sask.; Karen Pahl, Three Hills, Alta.; sons George, Kelowna, B.C.; David, Duchess, Alta.; 47 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters; 2 brothers. The funeral was July 21 in Bethel Evangelical Mission Church, Three Hills.
Henry D. Wiens
Henry D. Wiens died July 23. He was born Mar. 10, 1912 in Altona, Man. He attended Winkler Bible School. He was a sheet metal worker installing furnaces. He married Mary Hiebert Sept. 22, 1940 in Grossweide, Man. They were part of Grossweide MB Church, and later Morden (Man.) MB Church. He enjoyed travelling, boating, fishing, woodworking, bowling and playing pool. Predeceased by 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 1 grandchild, he is mourned by Mary; sons Art, Regina; Murvin, Leduc, Alta.; Richard, Kelowna, B.C.; 6 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchldren. The funeral was July 26 in Coaldale (Alta.) MB Church.
Forrest Robert (Bob) Langton
Bob Langton died July 31. He was born July 8, 1941 to Robert and Jessie Langton in southern Saskatchewan. He joined the Navy in 1959 and was stationed in Nova Scotia. He dedicated his life to Jesus Easter 1963. He married Marilyn Aug. 28, 1965. They moved to Abbotsford in 1973 and attended Bakerview MB Church. He was involved in Boys Brigade, M2W2 Prison Ministries and as part of the church property management board. He worked as a millwright. He enjoyed scuba diving, gospel quartet concerts and camping with his family. He is mourned by Marilyn; sons Andy and Stephen; daughter Ellen; 5 grandchildren; 1 sister; 1 brother.
Jacob Krause
Jacob Krause died July 26. He was born July 19, 1911 to Jacob Peter and Anna Krause in Barwenkova, Ukraine. He accepted the Lord at 12. The family immigrated to Langham, Sask. in 1925, moving to Davidson, Sask., then to Wishart, Sask. in 1930. He was baptized in 1939. He married Nettie Thiessen June 11, 1942. In 1948 they moved to Foam Lake, Sask., joining Foam Lake MB Church. He served as secretary, Sunday school teacher, superintendent and treasurer. Nettie died in 1950. He married Nettie’s sister Tina in 1951. They retired in Clearbrook, B.C. in 1979. Predeceased by Nettie, he is mourned by Tina; 6 daughters; 2 sons; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; 3 sisters. The funeral was July 30 in Clearbrook MB Church.
Christopher Neil Cunningham
Christopher Neil Cunningham died July 6. He was born Mar. 22, 1973 in Camrose, Alta. to Neil and Keitha Cunningham. He grew up on a farm in Kelsey. He studied computer information systems at DeVry Institute, Calgary. He loved learning and undertook new things with joy. He loved computers and music. He had a good sense of humour and enjoyed table games. He married Vicki Klassen Oct.19, 2002. They shared a steadfast faith in the Lord throughout his battle with brain cancer. He is mourned by Vicki; his parents; sisters Susan and Karyn; grandparents. The funeral was July 9 in River West Christian Church, Edmonton.
Elizabeth Epp
Elizabeth Epp died July 7. She was born Oct. 9, 1909 in Franztal, South Russia to Jacob K. and Katharina Janzen. The family immigrated to Rosser, Man. in 1925, moving to Yarrow, B.C. in April 1932. Elizabeth married George J. Epp Nov. 21, 1937 in Yarrow. They moved to a condo in Abbotsford in 1984, joining Clearbrook MB Church. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting and crocheting. Psalm 23 was a favourite. George died Aug. 31, 1987. In Sept. 1997 Elizabeth moved to Eden Intermediate Care Home. Predeceased by George, daughter Dorothy in 1949, she is mourned by daughters Esther, Helene; sons Jake, Edwin and Philip; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
