Discussions and discipleship

Laura Kalmar (left), chair of the Board of Discipleship Ministries, and Walter Unger, chair of the Board of Faith and Life, presented their boards’ ministries in a lively and engaging dialogue. It covered news of BFL discussions with Mennonite Central Committee, what BFL is doing about the women in ministry leadership question, a thank you to former MB Herald editor Jim Coggins for 19 years service with the Conference, baptism and church membership, and an upcoming book by Edmund Janzen on Acts that Kindred Productions will be publishing.

The appointment of Cam Rowland (pictured with staff behind him) as director of Discipleships Ministries (DM) was approved. DM includes Kindred Productions, periodicals in four languages, youth, adult and children’s ministries, and the Centre for MB Studies.

The Kindred Productions book table featured MB resources as well as materials relating to recharge seminars and convention speakers. Sales were brisk, especially of Reggie McNeal’s The Present Future. Pictured, KP customer service representative Elenore Doerksen and B.C. sales representative Herta Thiessen (right).
