Margaret Wall
Margaret Wall (nee Janzen) died May 3. She was born May 18, 1911 in Muensterberg, Russia. She emigrated from Russia with her family at age 13, settling in the Coaldale, Alta. area. She accepted Christ as her Saviour and was baptized, joining Coaldale MB Church in 1936. She married Jacob C. Wall in 1937. They farmed south of Coaldale. In 1976 she moved into Coaldale. She enjoyed gardening and tending flowers, handicrafts, going on walks and visiting friends. Her faith in God sustained her. Predeceased by Jacob in 1967, 5 brothers and 4 sisters, she is mourned by daughters Erika Lyon, Lora Seabrook and Joan Martens; son Rudy; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Wesley Allan Wiebe
Wesley Allan Wiebe died June 3. He was born Aug. 20, 1945 in Clearbrook, B.C. He married Nadean Peters Sept. 7, 1968. They lived in Coaldale, Alta. He worked as an electrical mechanic for 40 years. In March 2004 he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. With the help of pastor Lorne Willms he found forgiveness of sins and peace. To be obedient to Jesus, he was baptized in his home and joined Coaldale MB Church. He enjoyed sports and camping in their RV. He and son Ryan spent many hours pruning, shaping and cultivating bonsais. He is mourned by Nadean; son Ryan and daughter Rynel Wickend; 1 grandchild; his mother; 5 brothers; 1 sister.
Abram Jantz
Abram Jantz died Apr. 6. He was born March 27, 1928 in Laird, Sask., to Henry and Lena Jantz. A major ear infection as a child resulted in a mental handicap for the rest of his life. He enjoyed school and Bible school and had a long memory for details of places and events. The family moved to Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. in 1947. He helped on the farm and worked in the fruit packing plant. He enjoyed church and family activities. In the early 60s he moved to Bethesda Home in Campden, Ont., but also lived with families in the area. Al and Maude Schwartz became a second family to him and he enjoyed many trips with them. His child-like faith was an anchor for him. He is survived by brothers Hugo, Henry, Harold and Robert; sisters Linda and Marlene Derksen. The funeral was in Tallman Funeral Home, Vineland.
John Duerksen
John Duerksen died May 13. He was born Aug. 13, 1920 in Kolantarovica, Russia to Henry and Mary Duerksen. In 1926 the family immigrated to Holmfield, Man. He married Susan Warkentin Oct. 9, 1943 in Vancouver. They farmed in the Holmfield district until Oct. 1976 when they moved to Killarney, Man. John was a farmer, school bus driver, volunteer ambulance and handi-van driver. He served as usher in Lakeview Community Church, Killarney. He enjoyed travelling by car, particularly to the Rocky Mountains. He loved his family and enjoyed woodworking. Predeceased by 2 grandchildren, he is mourned by Susan; son John; daughters Judy Dueck, Dianne Unrau, Susan Hamm, Lynda Brubacher, Rose Heide and Barb Nickel; 20 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. The funeral was May 17 in Lakeview Community Church.
