Westview Christian Fellowship, St. Catharines, welcomed Vic Ratzlaff as pastor in December 2003. Vic and Miriam have been members of Westview since 1996. He has pastored for 12 years, and also loves to farm and paint. He received his education at Briercrest Bible College, Caronport, Sask. and Tyndale Seminary, Toronto. Miriam is an artist. They have 4 children: Caleb, Brianna, Seth and Charis.

Darren and Val Willems, pastor of La Salle (Man.) Community Church since 1998, resigned mid-January. He is currently working as a substitute teacher. Ian and Pat Mowat are leading the church for an interim period. He has previously been in church ministry but has spent the past 12 years in the trucking industry in Winnipeg.



Paul Atkinson began as pastor of administration at Waterloo (Ont.) MB Church last June. He has an MA in Education and was previously a teacher, principal and superintendent in the local school system. He is married to Marlene, a nurse.

Timothy Dyck will become editor of Canadian Mennonite, effective August 1. He has a BA from the University of Waterloo and an MA in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario and is currently completing a year of studies at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Ind. He is a member of Waterloo North Mennonite Church. Current interim editor of the paper is Margaret Loewen Reimer.

The Board of Communications of the US Mennonite Brethren Conference has appointed Connie Faber as editor of the Christian Leader, effective June 1. She has served as interim editor for the past year. Her “knowledge of and sensitivity to our churches give us confidence that she will continue the Leader’s strong tradition as a vibrant and effective ministry,” says Board chair Kathy Heinrichs Wiest.



The board for Camp Crossroads, Torrance, Ont. has appointed several additional full-time staff members to serve in the growing year-round program of the camp. Bruce Enns, who has been College and Career pastor at Forest Grove Community Church, Saskatoon since 2000, was commissioned as lead pastor Feb. 1. He has a BRE from Columbia Bible College and a MSc in Sport Management from the University of Saskatchewan. He is married to Lisa and they have 4 children: Keli, 10, Jodi, 8, Hannah, 6, and Courtney, 2. His new role marks a “shared journey” of staff transitions within Forest Grove Community that sees Harry Strauss, senior pastor for 5 years and most recently interim pastor, take on the role of associate pastor of adult discipleship ministries. Harry and Judy Strauss earlier served 10 years at Parliament Community Church, Regina.
