Refresh 2004

Previous | Next

Garry Schmidt, spiritual director and pastoral counsellor at San Francisco Theological Seminary, led the Refresh retreats held in conjunction with both the Alberta and Saskatchewan provincial conventions, March 12 and 19. His aim in such a day as Refresh, he said, was to “encourage a way of living.” Schmidt led the groups, numbering about 40 in both places, in practices like Lectio Divina, Centreing Prayer, and Examen. He also shared his wisdom and encouragement on matters of solitude, Gelassenheit (which he called “the holiness of letting go”) and Sabbath rest.
