NYC’04 prayer update

Previous | Next

Trying to plan a massive youth conference destined to impact over a thousand lives feels a little bit like searching for a sunken ship full of priceless treasure. We’re out on the surface of the deep with ten months to go, knowing that somewhere down there in the inky depths lies what we have been searching and praying for . . . a payload of changed hearts and real kingdom impact. We believe that NYC’04 is already a twinkle in God’s knowing eye, and our job is to walk with Him through our prayers and planning to discover what and why that is.

And so we ask ourselves (and Him) things like, “Where should we dive? What will we need to make this expedition successful? What expertise will we need, and from whom?”

And even with all our ideas, we know deep down that our success depends on larger elements we cannot control at all – like how the environment behaves.

All this to say, the NYC’04 planning team’s expedition is well underway, but we need the blessing of God to plumb the true depths of what He has planned for us and your youth. Please pray that we would uncover the full treasure of God’s will for this conference in all its multiplicitude (I made up that word) and see Him change many lives for eternity. Pray that we would be instrumental in creating a great space for God to do His thing. More prayer info to come! God bless you as you pray!

Brad Huebert, prayer coordinator for NYC’04.
