A miracle healing

My testimony

C.H. Kroeker

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3).

For a number of years I had been suffering from a severe case of depression. There appeared to be no solution. The enemy caused me much anxiety, despair, fear and many sleepless nights.

A horrific accident in 1957 left me with a crushed, handicapped leg and chronic backache. These were contributing factors to my depression. One could call them a “a thorn in the flesh.” I lost much interest in Bible reading, fellowship and prayer.

During my depression, numerous therapists tried to help. They prescribed different prescription drugs. All efforts seemed hopeless and very discouraging. Things did not improve. After many years, the Lord answered my prayers and the prayers of others. A miracle healing was happening. A calm, soothing spirit came over me. I soon discontinued taking sleeping pills and antidepressants. The joy of the Lord replaced the medication.

To this day I believe God healed me, restored my faith and gave me a hunger for His Word. It is a miracle. Hallelujah. At last I’m set free.

In Proverbs 3:5–6 it says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”

To me this was a miracle indeed. But the greatest miracle was when, as the song made popular by George Beverly Shea says, “Jesus saved my soul, cleansed and made me whole. It took a miracle of love and grace.”

To God be the glory, honour and praise. Thanks be to God.
