Jubilee youth raise funds for NYC’04

Winnipeg, Man.

Wanna buy a pizza? How about soup? Perhaps some art?

The youth group from Jubilee Mennonite Church, Winnipeg, is already fundraising for the next National Youth Conference to be held in Toronto, December 27–30, 2004. They have served a soup lunch prior to a church business meeting, are pre-selling and delivering you-bake pizzas, and selling Christmas ornaments. An auction of art donated by a number of talented artists in the church is scheduled for March.

Youth pastor Richard Bage and youth sponsors James and Elenore Doerksen and Steve Sawatzky are excited about NYC’04.

“Our church has seen the impact NYC has had on our youth over the years,” says Richard Bage. “This past summer several of the six young people we baptized specifically mentioned NYC as a major turning point in their lives.”

For more information about NYC’04 please visit the Youth Ministry site of the Canadian Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches’ website.
