Mennonite World Conference adds subtitle to name

Previous | Next

Meeting again after the assembly in Bulawayo, the General Council of the Mennonite World Conference picked up some business it had begun in meetings earlier. (See news story, MBH Sept. 12.)

It approved a subtitle to add to the MWC name. The organization’s name and subtitle together will read, “Mennonite World Conference: A Community of Anabaptist-Related Churches.”

It also looked ahead to the 2009 assembly, authorizing feasibility studies in the United States and Paraguay. Churches in both countries have offered to host the 15th MWC gathering. The U.S. invitation comes from eastern Pennsylvania.
