On April 14 Ryan Friesen began serving as full-time intern children’s pastor at Chilliwack Central MB Church in Chilliwack, B.C. Last summer, he and his wife Joanne directed the Leaders-in-Training program at The Pines camp in Grand Forks. B.C., and last fall Ryan served an internship as large group coordinator for the Promiseland children’s ministry at North Langley Community Church in Langley, B.C. Ryan has almost finished his B.A. in psychology at Trinity Western University. Joanne is close to finishing her degree at TWU, and also works at TWU as assistant events staff coordinator. The Friesens have a son, Joshua, 1.

Hugh Froese will become senior pastor of South Park Church in Altona, Man. at the end of summer. He previously served as an intern for one summer and as youth pastor for four years at Community Fellowship Church in Newton, Man. He also worked for seven years with Youth For Christ in Portage la Prairie, Man. He has a B.R.E. from Concord College in Winnipeg and has just completed an M.A. in Christian ministry at MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif. His wife Yvette has a B.Ed. from the University of Manitoba. They have three children, Sarah, 9, Samuel, 7, and Zachary, 4. Interim pastor couple Ken and Carolee Neufeld will complete their ministry at the church at the end of summer.

- Maple Ridge (B.C.) Community Church welcomed six people into membership by baptism Jan. 5: Adam Maxwell, Suzanne Frank, Keith Lytkowski, Rod and Frances Devries and Deborah Hoceyar. Also baptized were Katerina and Kyle Lytkowski.
