David and Heidi Gray have been appointed church planters with Rendez-vous Montréal. They are currently living in Fresno, Calif., where both have graduated from Mennonite Brethren Biblical Seminary. The Grays are anticipating moving to Montreal in May. Rendez-vous Montréal is the third Key City Initiative, a joint project between the Canadian MB Conference Board of Evangelism and the Quebec MB Conference to plant healthy, growing congregations in Montreal over the next five years. The Grays will be planting the first English-speaking Mennonite Brethren congregation in Montréal, in the southwest part of the city, and will be involved in French-language studies when they settle in Montréal. Dave is currently working part-time as a mediator and studying at the Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies at Fresno Pacific University. Previously, he was part-time youth pastor at Sardis (B.C.) Community Church for three years. From 1997 to 1998, the Grays led the Mobilization Team with the Youth Mission International TREK program, touring the United States and Canada with a music and drama group. Heidi is currently working part-time as administrative assistant to the Director of Network and Projects with Mennonite World Conference. Previously, she taught English at a Bible school in Lithuania for a year with Youth Mission International. Both have Master of Divinity degrees from MB Biblical Seminary. Dave has also studied at Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C. Heidi has a B.A. from Fresno Pacific University. They attend Butler Ave. MB Church in Fresno. —Canadian MB Conference news release | |||||||
