New name for short-term evangelism ministry; New ministry opportunity

Fresno, Calif.

Previous | Next

MBMS International announced in late December that the new name Disciple Making International (DMI) has been given to its short-term evangelism program formerly known as Church Partnership Evangelism and Discipleship (CPED).

CPED merged with MBMS International, the global mission agency of Mennonite Brethren churches in Canada and the US, in summer 2002. The new name was chosen after it came to light that another ministry called Church Partnership Evangelism had first rights to the use of the name.

DMI sends adults overseas to witness door to door, alongside local Christians. James Nikkel, former director of Evangelism Canada, past president of Bethany Bible College, and most recently executive director of Church Extension for the B.C. Mennonite Brethren Conference, will begin serving as director of DMI beginning March 1

Share your faith story in Zimbabwe

Disciple Making International (DMI) invites you to join them on a 19-day adventure that will not only reach Zimbabweans for Christ – but will also transform your life in the process.

Disciple Making International (DMI) supports churches and long-term mission work in countries where there many people who have not heard the gospel. Witness door to door with local Christians and see the Spirit draw people through the gospel, and your unique story.

DMI will be partnering with churches in Zimbabwe to provide much needed workers from July 23–August 10, 2003. This unique outreach precedes the Mennonite World Conference in Bulawayo. Your church could become the next partner in helping Zimbabwean churches bring others to their first steps in discipleship. This extraordinary opportunity requires approximately $4000 per person in support. For more information, contact the MBMS International office. See contact information (on page 18) in this issue.
