Mark Danyluk of Richmond, B.C. has accepted a call to pastor Boundary Community Church in Midway, B.C., effective this summer. He replaces Henry Thiessen, who retired after serving as interim pastor for two-and-a-half years. For the past three years, Danyluk has been managing a group home for disabled people. Previously, he pastored Bethany Christian Assembly, a church plant of the Plymouth Brethren in Richmond, for two years and was a customer sales agent for Canadian Airlines for seven years. He has a B.Th. and a B.R.E. from Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alta. and a Master of Christian Studies degree from Regent College in Vancouver. He and his wife Chris have four children, Joya, 12, Lena, 10, Anna, 6, and Josiah, 4.

Marni Enns began serving as interim worship coordinator at Elmwood MB Church in Winnipeg on Jan. 15. Previously, she worked at the Canadian MB Conference offices in Winnipeg for seven years, including serving MBMS International, Christian Education Ministries, MB Stewardship Ministries and the Conference Treasurer’s office; worked for Auto Trader for two years; and worked for an accountant on a casual basis. She is a graduate of Winkler (Man.) Bible Institute and has a bachelor’s degree in church music from Concord College (now Canadian Mennonite University) in Winnipeg and a B.A. from the University of Winnipeg. She is married to Rob, who is supervisor of the wood shop at Springfield Industries. They have two daughters, Taylia, 3, and Megan, 1.



James Nikkel has announced his intention to retire as church extension director for the B.C. MB Conference, effective at the end of the year.



Cal Bergen has resigned as senior pastor of Fort Garry MB Church in Winnipeg, effective July 31, after serving for nine years. Previously, he was associate pastor at Cornerstone Mennonite Church in Saskatoon for three years. He has a B.R.S. from MB Bible College in Winnipeg and an M.Div. from MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif. He and his wife Carolyn have two sons, Adam, 7, and Carter, 6. The Bergens are in the process of making plans for the future.



Mary Reimer has resigned as associate pastor of worship, small groups and women’s ministries at Fort Garry MB Church in Winnipeg, effective July 31, after serving for five-and-a-half years. She began serving at the church as an intern pastor and then went to part-time. Previously, she was the office coordinator at Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship in Winnipeg for a year and was a French teacher in Winnipeg and British Columbia for a total of 20 years. She has a B.Ed. from the University of Manitoba. She is married to Gary, who is co-owner of an advertising agency. The Reimers have three grown children and are expecting their first grandchild in August. She is seeking the Lord’s will for the future.



Ed Buller has resigned as associate pastor at Fort Garry MB Church in Winnipeg, effective July 31, after serving for three years. Previously, he was associate pastor of youth ministries at Portage Ave. MB Church in Winnipeg for four years. He is a graduate of Winkler (Man.) Bible Institute and has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Winnipeg. He is married to Laurie, a laboratory technologist at Canadian Blood Services. They have two children, Benjamin, 7, and Alyson, 3. Ed is planning to study towards a Master of Divinity degree at Providence Theological Seminary in Otterburne, Man.



Joanne Klassen of Winnipeg has been appointed program director of Recovery of Hope, a Christian counselling service, effective March 11. Recovery of Hope is a program of Eden Health Care Services of Winkler, Man., which is supported by the Mennonite churches in Winnipeg and southern Manitoba. A marriage and family therapist, Klassen most recently was a psychotherapist for the Central Regional Health Authority in Portage la Prairie, Man. for six years. She has M.A. degrees in theology and marriage, family and child counselling from MB Biblical Seminary in Fresno, Calif. She is a member of River East MB Church in Winnipeg, where she has served as assistant moderator.



Tim VanBrummelen, worship pastor at Willow Park Church in Kelowna, B.C., received recognition in the March 2002 issue of Creator magazine for his Christmas choral anthem “Hear the Angels Singing”. The anthem made it to the magazine’s “Honored Ten” list of the best sacred anthems published in 2001. Creator magazine, a multi-denominational periodical focusing on music ministry, is published in Healdsburg, Calif.
