Willingdon Church in Burnaby, B.C. is in the process of making a transition in its senior pastor position. Carlin Weinhauer, who has been senior pastor of the church for 18 years,

will be stepping aside as senior pastor effective Jan. 1, 2003, but will remain as a full-time pastor. Assistant senior pastor John Neufeld will take over as senior pastor, effective Jan. 1, 2003. Previously, Weinhauer taught at Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. for 15 years and pastored churches in South Carolina, Montana and Chicago. He is a graduate of Briercrest Bible College, and has a B.A. from Columbia Bible College in Columbia, S.C., a masters degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill., and a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta. He and his wife Marcia have three grown children and eight grandchildren. Neufeld, who has been at Willingdon for two-and-a-half years, was previously senior pastor at Bakerview MB Church in Abbotsford, B.C. for four years, taught at Columbia Bible College, Abbotsford, for two-and-a-half years and was church planting pastor at Peace Arch Fellowship in White Rock, B.C. for seven-and-a-half years. He is a graduate of Columbia Bible College and has a B.A. from the University of Saskatchewan and an M.Div. from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, Calif. He is working towards a D. Min. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He and his wife Kathy have three children, Rachael, 21, Sarah, 18, and Jonathan, 12.
John Wiens began serving as associate pastor of small groups and care at Panorama Community Church in Surrey, B.C. in early November. Previously, he was interim pastor at Hyde Creek Community Church in Port Coquitlam, B.C. for five months, was associate pastor at Willingdon Church in Burnaby, B.C. for 11-and-a-half years, was a church planter at Parkland Community Church in Yorkton, Sask. for six years, pastored Nutana MB (now Forest Grove Community) Church in Saskatoon for three years, worked for Campus Crusade for Christ for nine-and-a-half years and pastored Lucky Lake (Sask.) MB Church for two years. He has a diploma from Bethany Bible Institute in Hepburn, Sask., studied for two years at the University of Saskatchewan, has a masters diploma from the International School of Theology in San Bernardino, Calif. and is working towards an M.Div. from MB Biblical Seminary. He and his wife Evelyn have three grown children, Andrea, Kenton and Carmen.
La Glace (Alta.) Bible Fellowship Church held an ordination service for pastor Nelson Senft on Oct. 28. Church moderator Waldie Neufeld led the service, with Alberta MB Conference minister Abe Konrad conducting the ordination. Victor Zacharias brought the message. Nelson and his wife Margaret have pastored the church for five years. They have two children, Hannah, 8, and Benjamin, 5.

Susan Enns began serving as full-time junior high pastor at Forest Grove Community Church in Saskatoon in mid-September. Previously, she worked on a marketing research project in Saskatoon for a year and was a volunteer in the church for seven years. She has a B.Comm. from the University of Saskatchewan. She is married to Chris, who is a computer consultant at the University of Saskatchewan.
Linda Siemens began serving as three-quarter-time interim childrens ministry director at Forest Grove Community Church in Saskatoon on Jan. 1. She was hired April 1, 2001 as half-time assistant childrens ministry director, and will return to this position once the church has found someone to lead this ministry. Previously, she operated a private day care for 12 years. She is a graduate of Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. She is married to Robert, who works in contract sales for a building supplies store in Saskatoon. The Siemenses have three children, Christopher, 15, Clayton, 11, and Michelle, 6.
Ryan Bushman is serving a pastoral apprenticeship at Philadelphia MB Church in Watrous, Sask., his home church, as part of his B.A. requirements from Bethany Bible Institute in Hepburn, Sask. He is being mentored by pastors LaVerne Jantz and Darren Holland.
Thom Dick began serving a youth ministries internship at Eastview Community Church in Winnipeg on Oct. 1. He is studying education at the University of Winnipeg and has studied at Tauernhof, the Capernwray Missionary Fellowship of Torchbearers Bible school in Schladming, Austria. Dick, who grew up in Glenlea, Man., attended Niverville MB (now Fourth Ave. Bible) Church, where he worked with the youth. He is married to Tara, who works for a government-run day care in Winnipeg.
Doug Dirks has resigned as director of Ten Thousand Villages Canada, effective June 30, 2002, after serving for six years. During his term, the organization changed names from SELFHELP Crafts to Ten Thousand Villages, and operations in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the Atlantic provinces were brought under national management. Overall sales have grown from $2.5 million in 1996 to $5.5 million in 2001. He and his wife Joanne, who has been festival sales coordinator for the last six years, will be moving to Akron, Pa. in July 2002, where Doug will become marketing director for Ten Thousand Villages in the US. Previously, the Dirkses served with Mennonite Central Committee in Bangladesh 198285 and Doug was SELFHELP Crafts marketing director and producer relations director in Akron 198596.
John and Annette Enns-Wind began serving as pastor couple of Emmanuel Community Church in Pierceland, Sask. on Jan. 1. Previously, John was an economic planner for the Northwest Territories government for three years and ran his own consulting business for a year in Yellowknife. He also was a lay leader in a mens ministry at Yellowknife Alliance Church for three years. Annette has a B.Ed. from the University of Saskatchewan. She is a high school science teacher. John has a B.A. from Brock University in St. Catharines, Ont. and has done work towards an M.Div. from Briercrest Biblical Seminary in Caronport, Sask. The Enns-Winds have two sons, John, 2, and Joshua, born Jan. 18.
On Oct. 23, 23 youth and 1 adult sponsor signed the True Love Waits wall in the youth room at North Peace MB Church in Fort St. John, B.C. This is the fifth time in nine years that the youth group has gone through the True Love Waits series, a four-week course on sexual abstinence based on the Bible. The total number of signatures on the wall is 80.
