The Board of Directors of Columbia Bible College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Paul Wartman as President. Paul has been a pastor in the Mennonite Brethren Conference for 20 years.

He is a gifted communicator who clearly understands contemporary culture and is passionate about helping the church be relevant in its mission. As an experienced leader, Paul will enhance the Colleges effectiveness in preparing students for ministry in the contemporary world.

For the last 10 years, Paul has served as the pastor of The Meeting Place in Winnipeg, Man. Before that, he served for 10 years as a pastor in Fairview MB Church in St. Catharines, Ont. (two years as youth pastor and eight years as senior pastor) and for five years as co-director of Camp Mini-Yo-We in the Muskoka region of Ontario. He completed his undergraduate and masters degrees at Ontario Bible College and Seminary (now Tyndale College and Seminary) and earned a Doctor of Ministry degree at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is currently a member of the Canadian MB Conference Board of Evangelism. He has also served on the Canadian MB Conference Board of Faith and Life and as moderator of the Ontario MB Conference.

Paul and his wife, Ruthanne, have just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and have two sons, Michael and John, who are studying at the University of Manitoba. Paul and Ruthanne plan to move to Abbotsford in June and Paul will assume the duties of President July 1, 2002.
