J.M. Klassen, well-known for his leadership role with Mennonite Central Committee, recently completed an autobiography entitled Jacob’s Journey: From Zagradowka Toward Zion. Klassen began working with MCC in 1958, was the MCC’s country director in South Korea for three years, was MCC Canada’s first executive director 1964–70, taught in a Winnipeg high school for six years, and then was MCC Canada executive director until 1984, when a heart attack led him to resign. He then served in various volunteer roles for MCC, including administering MCC’s work in the Soviet Union. Copies of the book are available for viewing from the provincial MCC offices, Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C., Conrad Grebel College in Waterloo, Ont., Canadian Mennonite University, River East MB Church and Home Street Mennonite Church in Winnipeg. Requests for private copies of the book can be made to Klassen at 204-339-6198 or write to him at 11 Reichert St., Winnipeg, Man. R2G 3C7.
