Paul Wicki began serving as 60% time associate pastor at Northside Community Church in Mission, B.C. on Feb. 25 after serving a year as a pastoral intern under the B.C. MB Conference Pastoral Apprenticeship program. He also works part-time for MCC Supportive Care Services. Previously, he worked on a dairy farm in Switzerland for three months. He has B.A. from Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C. He married Naomi Schubert Mar. 17.



Gerald Dyck began serving as half-time youth pastor at Westside Community Church in Morden, Man. on Apr. 1, after serving seven months as interim youth pastor. He also farms. He previously was assistant supervisor at Minnewasta Golf & Country Club in Morden for 10 years. He attended Briercrest Bible College in Caronport, Sask. and has a B.A. in business management from Mayville (N.D.) State University. He and his wife Rachel have two daughters, Madeline, 4, and Isabella, 1.



Cyndie Wiebe has been hired as half-time children’s pastor at Westside Community Church in Morden, Man., effective Aug. 1. For the last two years, she has been a part-time kindergarten teacher at Southwood School in Winkler, Man. Previously, she taught kindergarten to grade two for the Hanover School Division for four years. She has a B.Ed. from the University of Manitoba. She is married to Tim, who is a junior high computer and science teacher with the Garden Valley School Division. They have three children, Josiah, 9, Annika, 7, and Emily, 5.



Keith Derksen has been hired as half-time associate pastor of youth at Lanigan (Sask.) Christian Fellowship, effective June 1. Previously, he was a youth pastor at Unity (Sask.) Baptist Church for three years. He has a Bachelor of Biblical Studies and a B.A. from Millar College of the Bible in Pambrun, Sask. He also will be studying part-time at Briercrest Biblical Seminary in Caronport, Sask. He is married to Jenni.



Grace Sawatsky has resigned as youth pastor at Waldheim (Sask.) MB Church, effective at the end of June, after serving for three years. Previously, she was an educational assistant in Waldheim School for three years, was a stay-at-home mother for a few years and was an insurance adjuster for four years. She has a diploma from Nipawin (Sask.) Bible School. She and her husband Darrell have three children, Lindy, 18, Kristy, 16, and Evan, 13. She is open to further ministry.

Rob Neufeld has been appointed director of finance and development at Bethany Bible Institute in Hepburn, Sask. Previously, he worked for J & H Builders Warehouse in Saskatoon for 14 years, first as marketing manager, then as store manager. He and his wife Mardell are members of Forest Grove Community Church, Saskatoon. They have two children, Stephanie, 13, and Evan, 11.



Daphne Plett has resigned as associate dean of students at Bethany Bible Institute in Hepburn, Sask., effective June 30, after serving the school for six years, as assistant dean of women, residence director and associate dean. She is pursuing further training.



Derek Johnson completed his ministry as director of youth at Orchard Park Bible Church, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., Sept. 1, 2000 after serving for three years. He is currently a private marriage and family therapist and a counsellor at Bay Ridge Counselling Service (formerly Crossroads Family Centre) in Burlington, Ont. He also works on referral from several Ontario MB churches, including Fairview MB Church in St. Catharines, Niagara Falls Christian Fellowship and Orchard Park Bible Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake. He has a B.A. in psychology from Brock University and an M.Sc. in Christian counselling from Philadelphia Biblical University. He and his wife Anne-Marie have two children, Dain, 2, and Nathan, 4 months.
