This summer, Walter Unger will be retiring as president of Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford, B.C., after serving the College for 32 years.

Unger joined Columbia in 1969, became academic dean in 1970, and was president 1978-1980 and 1985-2001, a total of 18-and-a-half years. He was at the helm of Columbia during many milestones. His wise leadership was invaluable in navigating some of the stormy waters along the way, and he helped to bring the College to where it is today. He started, played and coached Columbia hockey and is widely known as a theologian, writer, teacher, mentor and fundraiser.

In honour of Ungers retirement, the Board of Directors cordially invites all staff, faculty, friends and supporters of Columbia to a Retirement Celebration Dinner on Saturday, June 2 at 6:00 p.m. at Columbia Place. Tickets to this event are $15 each. Those interested in attending should RSVP the College before May 25 at (604) 853-3358. Columbia Bible College release
