South Abbotsford Mennonite Brethren Church was filled to capacity Sunday, February 4 as current and former students, staff, faculty and friends of Columbia Bible College remembered, relived and revived the 1970s.
Gods faithfulness evident through more than six decades of the Colleges ministry was the focus of the celebration.

Seventy-five former students who attended Columbia during the 1970s reunited to form a mass choir under the direction of Rudy Baerg. Musical selections from that time period by the choir, along with soloists and instrumentalists, provided a memorable concert for both the audience and participants.

Garth Klassen (1979) and Marilyn Isaak (1976) presented a Readers Theatre dressed in colourful 70s attire. They recalled the popular music, political issues and television shows of the decade as well as fond memories at Columbia.

Alumnus Larry Nickel led the congregation in a number of worship songs popular during the 1970s which continue to touch the heart today. Merv Boschman, Columbias director of development, and Garth Klassen hosted the event.

The concert was followed by a Coffee & Connections time in the churchs gym. Guests and alumni interacted together and enjoyed some delicious refreshments. Alumni also gathered for class photos. Columbia Bible College
