celebrated its grand opening Sunday, March 11, 2001 at Promontory Heights Elementary School.

In all, 370 people attended, including 108 children. Chuck Strahl, MP; Barry Penner, MLA; and Ken Newton, Community Association chair, were present and brought personal greetings.

James Nikkel, Board of Church Extension church planting director for the B.C. MB Conference, brought a word of greeting and a prayer of blessing, and cut the ribbon. Fred Leonard, senior pastor of Mountain View Community Church in Clovis, Calif., assisted in the ceremony. Mountain View Community Church is a supporting church of Promontory Community Church.

Promontory Community Church hopes to charter by the end of April.
