 | I Could Sing of Your Love Forever: 25 Modern Worship Songs for a New Generation Various Artists. Worship Together, 2000.

Im not sure whether North American churches are really experiencing the worship renewal so often talked about, but one thing is clear: almost everyone these days is recording a praise and worship album. Some are very good many are not. I would place this one somewhere in the middle of the pack.

I Could Sing of Your Love is a double CD produced by the England-based Worship Together label. It features 25 songs by artists such as Matt Redman, delirious, Darrell Evans, the Passion Band and Brenton Brown. One disc consists of studio recordings, and the other one contains live tracks. (Fortunately for the quantity-conscious consumer, the songs are not repeated.) As with most compilation discs, the range of song quality is rather wide. At the better end are songs like Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble, The Heart of Worship, Lord Reign in Me, Shout to the Lord, Better is One Day and Come, Now is the Time to Worship. Unfortunately, there are almost as many songs that lack musical interest and lyrical depth, and probably should have been taken off the producers list.

The benefit of buying this double CD album is exposure to some of the best songs from 12 other albums. I would recommend I Could Sing of Your Love to youth pastors who want to introduce some good worship music to their groups and save a few bucks in the process.
