 Elaine Froese
Glowing lights
Fresh pine
Tall tall tree
Thin
Like Dad.
He chooses it.
Feels sorry for the last on the lot.
Not unlike the lost ones
Who knock at his door for help.
Gas money. A tow. The phone.
Bethlehem strangers knocked, too.
Lost, just for a moment.
Each Christmas their small figures
grace the manger scene.
Light illumines the Child.
Christmas is Him.
He seeks the lost and the lonely.
Hed like my Dads tree.
