The conference was the brainchild of Jodi Kozan, a stay-at-home mother of three, who lives in Saskatoon. Kozan attended a conference in January 1999 where she became inspired to have women from all across Saskatchewan come together to celebrate faith in God. After talking to friends and hearing the enthusiasm, Kozan led a core group of women who made this vision a reality.

The theme of the Saskatoon conference was Secret longings of the heart, based on the writings of the keynote speaker, Carol Kent. Kent is a well-known author and speaker who has travelled throughout North America, encouraging women on their faith journey and challenging them to influence others in light of eternity.

Her sessions were peppered with humorous and touching stories that had the conference participants laughing and weeping, sometimes at the same time. During an invitation for prayer, some women made new commitments to Jesus; others reaffirmed commitments of the past or simply desired for someone to pray for them.

The day began and ended with praise and worship, lead by singer/songwriter Lianna Klassen from Airdrie, Alta. In the morning, and then again in the afternoon, conference attendees chose one of six sessions dealing with hospitality, heaven, prayer, parenting, healing and marriage.

This day was an opportunity to draw aside from the busyness of life and share praise and worship of God. Attendees were refreshed and inspired.

The conference had a capacity attendance and a number of registrations had to be turned away. from a report by Carol Tomalty
