Previous | Next Coquitlam, B.C. New church planter begins work

On September 1, 2000, Mark Tucker began ministry planting a new Mennonite Brethren church in the Heritage Mountain area on the border between Coquitlam and Port Moody, B.C. On Sunday, September 10, Mark and his wife Shirley were commissioned at their home church, Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship in Coquitlam, where they have faithfully served for many years. Joining them on the platform for prayer were eight additional families, primarily from the Eagle Ridge church, who are committed to the new emerging work.

The new church is a joint project of the Eagle Ridge church and the B.C. MB Conference Board of Church Extension. BOCE believes that existing churches planting daughter churches still provides the strongest base for church planting, and BOCE is placing a high priority on this approach of partnering with MB churches.

Mark has been very active in business enterprises and is in the final stage of completing his seminary training at Associated Canadian Theological Schools on the Trinity Western University campus in Langley, B.C. Ed Goerzen, BOCE
